The 500 hectare estate offers the possibility of doing lots of sporting activities, some of these are walking, trekking, mountain biking and horseback riding through the 40km of roads and footpaths on the estate; fishing in the private lake (if you have a licence) including the Rasina stream where the Fario Trout live; tennis, football and five a side football in the outdoor sports centre, swimming in the outdoor pool next to the hotel, archery and bowling game in the equipped areas.
Guided tour of the Terre del Verde Estate
The church of St. Peter's has stood on the hills overlooking the Abbey for a thousand years, and discovered the culture, history and the nature of our estate, from the ancient village houses, and the church of St. Anna to reach the top of the hill from where the Frecco castle dominates the valley which unlocks an unrivalled striking panorama.
A fantastic guided tour during which it is possible to visit the sheep, goat, dairy, Cinta Senese pig and horse farms, all breed and reared according to the ancient methods and traditions.
Cooking courses
Using products from the farm and kitchen garden to make the typical dishes from Umbria and The Marches, with the expert advice of the chef from "La Muccheria" restaurant.
Cheese making course
Working with milk from Le Terre del Verde's organic farm to produce dairy products, under the expert guidance of Le Terre del Verde’s master dairyman.
Wine tasting courses
Assisted by the expert sommelier, who will teach you wine tasting techniques, to appreciate the bouquet, colour and taste of the best Italian wines. The various principles of food and wine connoisseurship will also be introduced during the course.
Green fingers (March-April)
Courses of floriculture and horticulture assisted by our expert botanist helping you to appreciate pruning techniques of flowers and plants, and also to learn how to plant, grow and pick the produce from the kitchen garden.
Asparagus picking (March-April)
In the woods of La Terre del Verde estate during the months of March and April we offer you the possibility of an exciting day learning about and picking wild asparagus.
Picking fruits of the forest (August)
In the month of August when the fruit such as bluberries, blackcurrants, strawberries and cherries hang gernerously from the bushes which line the roads and footpaths of the estate, La Terre del Verde offers you the possibility of an exciting day picking these abundant fruits of the forest.
Mushroom and Truffle hunting (October-November)
In the woods of La Terre del Verde estate, spend a thrilling day learning about and collecting the spontaneous produce the woods have to offer, in particular mushrooms and truffles. This activity co-ordinated by the experts of this sector, gives you an excellent opportunity to unite nature and the place where these products acquire their tantalizing characteristics which make them famous throughout the world.
